CreditClarity

If Credit Clarity existed 10 years ago, what would my life look like today?

The problem I couldn't read

I was not a financially irresponsible person. I was an uninformed one. When things went wrong (missed payments, cancelled cards, the endless calls from bankers), I finally decided to figure out what was happening. I pulled my CBS credit report.

And I could not read it.

The grade letters meant nothing to me. The status codes were unexplained. When I asked bankers to explain it, they just said: "It's bad. You need to make payment." That is not an explanation. That is a door closing.

What I learned the hard way

I realized this gap is structural. Banks read CBS reports fluently every day. Their customers do not. A confused borrower accepts worse terms, doesn't push back, and doesn't know what questions to ask.

I learned the hard way. I am Keith. I am not a finance professional; I am just a normal working professional with a day job. I had been on the Credit Counselling Singapore (CCS) programme. Before CCS, I went to private debt recovery companies for help. I remember sitting there, already struggling to survive, wondering why they were charging me thousands of dollars just to get help with repayment when there had to be another way. I know exactly what it costs, financially and emotionally, to be on the wrong side of that information gap.

Why I'm building this

The person who needs this product is someone sitting at a kitchen table, staring at a confusing PDF, trying to understand why their HDB application was flagged. They are stressed. They need clarity, not jargon. They shouldn't have to pay thousands of dollars to institutions just to understand their own data.

That is the gap I am closing. One report at a time.
